How to Create Your Own Puzzle

Turn your favorite photos into puzzles! Here's how:

Before you start:

  • Have a photo saved on your computer
  • The photo should be in JPG, PNG, or similar format
  • For best results, use images that are at least 1280 x 960 pixels
  • Larger, clearer photos work better

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Sign in to your account first
  2. Click the "Create" button in the top menu bar
  3. You'll see the "Create a New Puzzle" page with a box that says "Drag & drop an image here or click to browse"

Adding Your Photo - Two Ways:

Method 1: Click to Browse (Easier for Beginners)

  1. Click anywhere inside the dotted box
  2. A window will pop up showing your computer's files
  3. Navigate to find your photo:
  4. Look in "Pictures" or "Downloads" folders
  5. Or wherever you saved your photo
  6. Click once on your photo to select it (it will be highlighted)
  7. Click the "Open" button at the bottom of the window
  8. Your photo will upload (you'll see a progress bar)

Method 2: Drag and Drop

  1. Open the folder where your photo is saved
  2. Make sure you can see both the folder and your browser window
  3. Click and hold on your photo
  4. While holding the mouse button, drag the photo to the dotted box
  5. When the box changes color or shows "Drop here," release the mouse button
  6. Your photo will upload

Finishing Your Puzzle:

  1. Puzzle Name: Type a descriptive name for your puzzle
    • Example: "Beautiful Beach Sunset" or "Grandkids at the Park"
    • Avoid using numbers like "img_3452"
  2. Tags: Add words that describe your puzzle
    • This helps others find it
    • Use words like: beach, sunset, ocean, nature
    • Use words like: beach, sunset, ocean, nature
    • Separate multiple tags with commas or spaces
  3. Click the blue "Create Puzzle" button
  4. Wait a moment while your puzzle is created
  5. You'll be taken to your new puzzle, ready to play!

  • Use interesting content, not random personal photos, if you plan to make it public
  • Keep it family-friendly or set as private
  • Choose a piece count that matches the image complexity
  • Set relevant tags so others can find your puzzle
